Windwalker is a love story told on Ocracoke Island.  Ocracoke is one of my
favorite sailing destinations.  My wife Beverly and I try to sail there at least once
a year.  As a native of North Carolina  the coastal waters has given me great
pleasure.  I believe the story of Walker Teach, and his love for the people of
coastal Carolina will make you want to visit the area.  If you have never been to
Ocracoke or the outer banks of North Carolina you should plan a trip. Take a
drive to Cedar Island or Swan Quarter. Ride the ferry across to Ocracoke and
enjoy the step back in time. Visit pristine beaches, go sailing on the Pamlico
Sound, take a tour on four wheelers to Portsmouth Island or visit with the
pones.  Take along a copy of Windwalker and imagine yourself part of the
story.  Stand at the base of Ocracoke Lighthouse and watch the sun set across
Silver Lake and the Pamlico Sound, you will find a peaceful feeling.
