My name is Judy Stephenson. I was born February 25, 1954. I have lived in Pamlico County all my life. I was raised in a Christian home, my dad being a Pentecostal Holiness preacher. I was brought up on southern gospel music. I always dreamed of being a singer and that dream came true in 1990. I formed a gospel group called the Glory Bound Singers. This was a big part of my life.... serving God and witnessing for Him. We were on the road a lot, meeting a lot of beautiful people. In 1999, the group broke up and I felt a part of my life had died. Although I still sang in church, revivals, and outdoor sings, I missed the steady going and fellowship. Then, one day I met Ed Terry and he asked me to help him with a song he had written, "Gas ain't cheap". At first I said I couldn't do it. I had never sang country songs. Ed kept insisting I could and called me one evening and said, "we're going to record this song....tonight." Well, record, we did, and although gospel is still my first love, I've enjoyed working and singing more country songs with Ed. He encourages me to continue to sing the gospel songs that relate to my life. I appreciate that so much, because God has been so good to me and without Him in my life I would not be here. There's also someone that encourages me and that's my husband David. He's the "Wind Beneath my Wings", and I love him dearly. Also, he's my sound man. I thank God daily for him. I hope these projects Ed has set up go over good. They're all for a good cause. He has a big heart and that's the reason I decided to give COUNTRY a try. Thank you, Ed for giving me this opportunity to help out in this wonderful thing you are doing for T*A*P*S.
